At VIACS, our professionals are trained to
understand the specialized needs of healthcare facilities. For the
continued health of your patients and employees, VIACS documents and
implements infectious control and safety processes. We investigate
your facility and review requirements to create a methodology and procedure suited to
your needs. Below is a list of the most common services VIACS
performs in the healthcare industry. To view a list of all services
VIACS offers, visit our services. Please

or to schedule an evaluation of your facility.
Boiler Fire Tube Cleaning Fire tube cleaning
is important to maintain high energy efficiency. Soot, rust and
other build-up can severely degrade your boiler's efficiency,
decrease its usable life and cause safety hazards. VIACS
professionals will ensure your fire tube boiler operates at peak
efficiency for its maximum life span.
Chiller Tube Brushing Chillers are often the
single largest consumers of energy. The undoing of any chiller is
the build-up of scale, biological growth and corrosion inside
chiller tubes. When this occurs, efficiencies are eroded and the
chiller's life cycle can be significantly reduced. Preventive
maintenance, including cleaning the chiller tubes will yield optimum
efficiency of the chillers.
Coil Cleaning Equipment operating with dirty
coils use more energy than those with clean coils. A coil with dirt
and grime cannot supply proper heat transfer, resulting in greater
energy consumption. Additionally, a systems cooling capacity is
greatly reduced. Dirty coils increase operating pressure and
temperature which breaks down the compressors lubricant and can
result in equipment failure. A failed compressor means no cooling
and costly repairs.
Cooling Tower Cleaning Commercial cooling
systems are vulnerable to the negative effects of mineral build-up
because they rely on the evaporation of water. Any impurities in
your water supply will have nowhere to go except the pipe walls.
VIACS can assist you in keeping your facility operating at
maximum efficiency with our cleaning services. We will
also help you reduce the build-up of mineral deposits.
Drop Ceiling Cleaning Ceilings are a trap for
carbon monoxide, oils, grease, smoke, nicotine and carbon. They also
provide a breeding ground for bacteria and mold. These factors along
with other pollutants bond to amino and fatty acids to create the
"sick building syndrome". VIACS professionals break down and
dissolve these substances - returning your ceiling to a like-new
condition. In addition to the ceiling tiles being deodorized and
sanitized they regain their acoustic, fire rating and light
reflection values.
Ductwork Cleaning If not properly installed,
maintained and operated - ductwork may become contaminated with
particles of dust, pollen or other debris. If moisture is present
the potential for microbiological growth (mold) is increased and
spores from the growth may be released into the living and working
space. Some of these contaminants may also cause allergic reactions
or other symptoms if people are exposed to them.
Electrical Apparatus / Motor Cleaning With
our Cryogenic (Dry Ice) Blasting process, VIACS professionals
thoroughly and gently clean electrical and electronic
equipment. Dry Ice Blasting is nonabrasive and the materials used
are nonconductive, making it the ideal choice for cleaning sensitive
equipment like switchboards, circuit breakers, AC and DC motors,
generators and more.
Encapsulation & Coatings VIACS
specializes in environmental coating solutions through effective
applications and technologies. These applications help improve the
safety of workplace, sustainability of natural resources, reduction
of greenhouse gas emissions and energy efficiency. VIACS
professionals can improve the comfort levels and extend the
structural life of treated surfaces.
Fan Cleaning One of the most fundamental ways
to reduce fire risk is to eliminate grease build-up, debris and
other by-products that serve as fuel sources in ventilation and
exhaust systems. With routine cleaning, equipment life is extended
and most importantly efficiency is increased. VIACS professionals
clean fans and exhaust systems to the metal and ensure these systems
are in good working order.
Filter Rack Repairs Metal filter racking
systems that are damaged can often be repaired, avoiding the cost
and inconvenience of a complete filter rack replacement.
Filter Replacement Regular filter replacement
can help extend the useful life of your HVAC units and equipment,
decrease energy costs, and reduce the risk of poor health caused by
poor indoor air quality. VIACS professionals replace filters
including dust collection, HVAC and equipment
filters.
Fire Damper Inspection Proper
inspection of a fire damper system assures its reliable operation
and establishes that the system complies with regulations and
professional standards. In the event of a fire, the damper system
will prevent rapid spread of fire through the ventilation system.
When you
choose VIACS we will discuss your needs, analyze your facility, and
prepare a detailed custom plan for your situation. The best way to
inspect the operation of a fire damper is to view it in both the
open and closed position.
Depending on your needs, VIACS can supply you with a dated
photograph of each damper in both the open and closed position. We
do not use a "one-size-fits-all" checklist; every facility is
different and we take the time to address your needs and specific
circumstances.
Flex Ductwork Replacement Flexible
nonmetallic duct (or flex duct) is more cost effective than hard
pipe due to the increasing costs of metal, and can easily be ran in
tight spaces. However, it is easily torn, crushed, pinched or
damaged during installation and has a high resistance to airflow -
causing your system to lose efficiency. Consequently, it must be
replaced and properly installed if it is damaged.
Grease Hoods & Systems
Cleaning Approximately one-third of restaurant fires are
caused by grease build-up and residue in the kitchen exhaust system.
It's important to ensure a complete and routine cleaning
of the entire system. Some contractors offer a "hood cleaning"
service which does not include the ductwork or rooftop fan. While
such services may keep the interior of the kitchen looking sharp,
they do little to secure fire safety and reduce health concerns.
Only a complete cleaning of the system - from the hood in the
kitchen to the fan on the roof - will reduce the risk of a kitchen
fire and ensure compliance with fire regulations.
Interstitial Space Cleaning Interstitial
space is the volume of space above the ceiling where mechanical
systems such as HVAC, duct, electrical and piping are run. These
mechanical systems have valves, instruments and other items that
require periodic cleaning. This space is also often used as a return
air plenum - warranting periodic cleaning to alleviate detrimental
health effects on people.
Laboratory Equipment Cleaning Periodic
cleaning and sanitizing is necessary to keep laboratory equipment
and tools in operable condition and to maintain peak efficiency and
safety.
Lead Abatement VIACS professionals use the
latest technology to assess the extent of your lead problem, devise
an effective solution and execute a program that brings you into
conformance with federal and state regulations - all in an
environmentally conscious manner. As an industry expert in Lead
Abatement, VIACS provides an array of lead abatement techniques in a
variety of settings.
Mold Abatement VIACS professionals remediate
indoor mold problems by not only stopping the source of moisture but
also removing mold growth. Mold can be found almost anywhere
moisture and oxygen are present. When excessive moisture accumulates
in buildings or on building materials, mold growth will often occur
particularly if the moisture problem remains undiscovered or
unaddressed.
Systems Evaluations VIACS has an extensive
inventory of cutting edge instrumentation to aid in identifying and
solving indoor air quality problems. Our team of technicians has the
analytical skills to measure, document and troubleshoot indoor air
quality problems in existing construction and to help prevent
problems in new construction.
Testing & Reporting Quality assurance is
a vital part of any construction project. VIACS provides independent
testing services with absolutely no affiliation with any
manufacturer, vendor, provider, contractor or installer of HVAC
equipment or systems. By documenting and reporting mechanical and
related items that do not conform to the project specifications or
other contract documents, VIACS serves as an agent to the owner for
quality assurance.
